What Is Responsible Gaming?
Responsible gaming means approaching online casino games, bingo, and slots as a form of entertainment — not as a way to earn money or escape from problems. At sagisag, we define responsible gaming as playing within your personal financial limits, keeping sessions to a manageable length, and staying aware of how gaming fits into your overall lifestyle.
For most players across Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and the rest of the Philippines, gaming on sagisag is a fun and relaxing pastime. But we also know that for a small number of people, gaming can become problematic. That is why sagisag has built responsible gaming into the core of our platform — not as an afterthought, but as a fundamental part of how we operate.
The 21+ Rule — Why It Matters
Under Philippine law and PAGCOR regulations, online casino gaming is restricted to adults aged 21 years and above. sagisag enforces this rule strictly through our Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process. Every player must submit a valid government-issued ID — such as a Philippine passport, UMID, SSS ID, driver's licence, or PhilSys national ID — before they can make a deposit or place a single wager.
This is not just a legal requirement. Young people are more vulnerable to developing problematic gaming habits, and sagisag takes its responsibility to protect minors seriously. If our verification team identifies that a player is under 21, the account will be immediately suspended and any funds returned.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to use parental control software to prevent minors from accessing online gaming sites. If you share a device with younger family members, please ensure your sagisag account is protected with a strong, unique password and that you log out after every session.
Recognising Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can affect anyone, regardless of age, income, or background. The key difference between recreational gaming and problem gambling is control — or the loss of it. sagisag encourages all players to regularly reflect on their gaming habits and to be honest with themselves about whether gaming is still fun and within their means.
- Spending more on gaming than you originally planned or can afford
- Borrowing money from family, friends, or lenders to fund gaming
- Using money set aside for rent, bills, or groceries to deposit on sagisag
- Chasing losses — depositing more in an attempt to win back what you have lost
- Hiding gaming expenses from your partner, family, or employer
- Feeling anxious, irritable, or restless when you are not gaming
- Using gaming as a way to escape stress, depression, or personal problems
- Feeling guilty or ashamed about how much time or money you spend gaming
- Repeatedly trying to cut back on gaming but finding it difficult to do so
- Neglecting work, studies, family, or social activities because of gaming
- Lying to family members or friends about how much you play or spend
- Withdrawing from social activities or relationships to spend more time gaming
- Conflict with family members over gaming habits or finances
- Feeling that gaming is more important than spending time with loved ones
Tips for Keeping Gaming Fun
The vast majority of sagisag players enjoy our games without any issues. Here are some practical tips that our community of players from Manila to Mindanao use to keep gaming enjoyable:
- Set a budget before you play — decide how much you are comfortable spending and treat it like the cost of entertainment, not an investment.
- Never chase losses — if you have reached your budget for the day, stop. The games will still be there tomorrow.
- Take regular breaks — step away from the screen every hour. Use sagisag's session time reminders to help you remember.
- Balance gaming with other activities — gaming is more enjoyable when it is one of many things you do for fun, not the only one.
- Do not play when you are upset or stressed — emotional states can lead to impulsive decisions. Play when you are relaxed and in a good headspace.
- Keep track of your spending — review your sagisag transaction history regularly so you always know exactly how much you have deposited and withdrawn.
- Talk to someone you trust — if gaming is starting to feel like a problem, talking to a friend, family member, or counsellor is always a good first step.
Self-Exclusion at sagisag
sagisag's self-exclusion programme is one of the most important responsible gaming tools we offer. If you feel that you need a longer break from gaming — or that you want to stop permanently — self-exclusion gives you a firm, enforceable way to do that.
When you activate self-exclusion on sagisag, your account is immediately suspended. You will not be able to log in, deposit, or place wagers for the duration of the exclusion period. sagisag will also remove you from all marketing lists so you will not receive promotional emails or SMS messages during your exclusion.
Self-exclusion periods on sagisag are available for 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, or permanently. We strongly advise players who are concerned about their gaming habits to choose the longest period that feels right for them. Requests to end a self-exclusion early will not be processed — this is by design, to give you the protection you need.
To activate self-exclusion, log in to your sagisag account, go to Account Settings, and select the Responsible Gaming section. Alternatively, contact our support team at [email protected] and we will process your request within 24 hours.
Our Commitment to PAGCOR Standards
sagisag operates within the regulatory framework established by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). PAGCOR's responsible gaming guidelines form the foundation of sagisag's own responsible gaming programme. We are committed to upholding these standards and to cooperating fully with PAGCOR on any responsible gaming matters.
PAGCOR has published its own responsible gaming resources and guidelines for Filipino players. We encourage all sagisag players to familiarise themselves with PAGCOR's responsible gaming framework as a complement to the tools and information available on this page.
